Starting our adventure from Sandal BMW Wakefield, we hit the road to put the BMW Charging network to the test and see just how effortless electric travel can be.

The Start of Our Charging Adventure.

Every great trip begins with excitement, and ours started at Sandal BMW Wakefield. With the iX fully charged and the MyBMW App open on our phones, we were ready to see how BMW Charging could support a real-life road trip.

There’s a certain reassurance in knowing that your journey is supported by a growing charging network. From the moment we left the dealership, we weren’t just focused on the destination -we were testing the convenience and confidence that comes with BMW Charging.

Planning the Journey with the MyBMW App.

Long road trips require smart planning, and that’s where the MyBMW App shines. Acting as the perfect co-driver, it mapped out our route, highlighted where the chargers were, and even gave real-time updates to make sure we always had the best options at our fingertips. Instead of worrying about where to stop or how much range we had left, the app gave us all the information upfront.

It removed the stress of the unknown and replaced it with complete confidence. It really is like having a co-pilot who knows every turn and every charging station -without the backseat driving.<br />

A Sweet Stop Along the Way.

No road trip is complete without a little indulgence, and ours came in the form of a visit to Yummy Yorkshire for some ice cream. These spontaneous stops are what make road trips memorable - but they can sometimes throw off charging plans. Not this time.

Thanks to the MyBMW App, we knew exactly where the next BMW charger was located, and it was close by. So while we enjoyed our treat, we also had the reassurance that recharging the car wouldn’t be an issue. The BMW Charging network is designed to give you freedom. By the end of November, BMW aims to have 135 branded BMW Charge points installed across the UK, with many of these located in and around national parks.

This means the question is no longer “will I find a charger?” but “which BMW charger do I want to use?” Positioned where drivers need them most - whether in busy hubs or remote destinations - the BMW Charging network ensures you can travel without compromise.

With every new installation, BMW is turning range anxiety into true range confidence, making long journeys and spontaneous adventures easier than ever.

The Drive Through the Peak District.

While the chargers kept our journey flowing, the iX made every mile enjoyable. Driving through the Peak District’s winding roads was the perfect opportunity to experience its comfort, stability, and luxury. The near-silent drive heightened the feeling of being immersed in nature, while the smooth handling made each twist and turn effortless.

It’s proof that with BMW Charging making the journey possible, the iX ensures every second behind the wheel is premium. The two work hand in hand - the network giving you the confidence to explore, and the car making sure you love every moment of the ride.

A Growing Network for Future Adventures.

BMW is continuing to invest in making road trips effortless. By the end of November, the BMW Charging network is expected to expand to a total of 135 dedicated BMW chargers across the UK, including many in national parks.

This expansion isn’t just about numbers - it’s about accessibility. It means that more drivers can enjoy the confidence of knowing a fast, reliable charging station is never far away, no matter how adventurous their route may be.
