The great kitty rescue17/07/2018
Our Huddersfield BMW Centre had a rather unusual problem to deal with following a routine service request from an X5 customer. The customer, who had travelled from Brighouse had recently been on holiday so as the car had been stood for a number of weeks he brought it along to Sandal as soon as he returned.
When technician Jav popped the bonnet he heard an unexpected rustling sound. Upon investigation, he spied a tiny, frightened kitten wedged in by the gearbox. As the technicians gathered and tried to coax the kitten out it became spooked and disappeared into the wing where no one could reach it. With the technicians scratching their heads, service advisor John took control and delved into the X5 and retrived the little kitty.
The team made it a bed in a spare parts box and took it to a vet to be checked out.
In the meantime, Sandal called their customer to let them know they had found his kitten but the owner of the X5 was not the kitten owner. He later learned that his neighbour had been feeding a local feral cat who had given birth to a litter of kittens and this brave little wanderer got a little more than he bargained for after being very curious.
After being given a clean bill of health the 7 week old kitten, named Gasket by the tech team was taken home by one of our Sandal staff.
