Supporting the Whiteknights Blood Bikes18/03/2019
Sandal Huddersfield are enormously pleased and proud to be able to present the Whiteknights Yorkshire Blood Bikes with some alternative transport so they can carry on the amazing work they do in all weathers.
This BMW i3 will be transporting life saving blood, plasma and other vital supplies between hospitals as part of their role of out of hours, voluntary delivery drivers.
As the i3 is a fully electric car, it will also provide an economical alternative to the bikes.
Richard Avery, head of business has been a supporter of this wonderful charity for some time and had this to say,“I am delighted to be in a position to be able to help. The Whiteknights are very much unsung heroes and do some amazing work not only in Huddersfield but the whole of Yorkshire assisting the NHS to transport this life saving cargo”.
John Mitchell from Whiteknights Yorkshire Blood Bikes said,
“we are very grateful for the generosity of Sandal BMW in providing the Charity with the use of this electric vehicle.
Whiteknights volunteers transport urgent medical and pharmaceutical goods Out of Hours between hospitals and hospices in the Yorkshire region. All our people are volunteers and we provide the service free of charge.
The BMW i3 will be an invaluable addition to our fleet of motorbikes and will be used both when winter can introduce more risk in use of the bikes, and in the Spring and Summer months will be used additionally at fundraising and promotional events to help raise awareness of the work that Whiteknights do”.
Sandal look forward to a successful partnership and wish the Whiteknights happy electric motoring.
