MOT due during lockdown?

Sandal are aware that some customer vehicle MOT expiry dates are due to pass shortly and they are unable to leave their residence due to self-isolation. Sandal are trying to address these concerns and have been waiting for an official ruling from the government in how to approach and assist these customers.

We are pleased to confirm that cars, vans and motorcycles that are due their MOT from 30 March 2020 will have their MOT extended by 6 months. This temporary exemption will enable vital services to continue, frontline workers to get to work, and people to get essential food and medicine.

NOTE: You must make sure your vehicle is safe to drive (‘roadworthy’). It can be unsafe even if your MOT expiry date has been extended and you could be prosecuted.
